BAGECO provides participants with an extensive supporting programme. This includes three different excursions, the social evening and the science slam.
Take advantage of the various opportunities to engage in dialogue with the participants in a relaxed atmosphere.
Science Slam
Get on stage and present your research - application is possible until 26 May 2025
We cordially invite you to our first BAGECO-Science-Slam!
Think you can present your research in a fun, engaging, and understandable way? Step onto the BAGECO Science Slam stage! You’ll have six minutes to captivate the audience without a projector – creative props and bold storytelling are encouraged! Every academic career stage is welcome; what truly matters is your passion for research!
Why participate?
- Share your passion for research in an exciting, informal setting.
- Connect with peers and gain new perspectives.
- Compete for the title of "Most Inspiring Presentation" as voted by the audience.
If you or a member of your group is ready to take on this unconventional challenge, send us a few sentences about your intended contribution and initial ideas for presenting without a projector. Everything is possible—costumes, props, double acts… or simply great storytelling!
Send us a brief introduction about yourself and your presentation idea by 26 May, via email to bageco@conventus.de.
If your idea is selected, you’ll be invited to an online workshop with Science Slam organizer Bernhard Weingartner on Monday, 16 June from 3–6 PM. You’ll receive all the info, tips, and feedback you need. Together, you’ll refine your wording, develop engaging metaphors, and make your presentation stage-ready!
Excursion
Get to know the area around Graz on 03 July 2025
On 3 July 2025, we are offering three exciting excursions that will give you the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings of Graz and exchange ideas with other participants.
All excursions start at 1:00 pm at the University Library Graz. Participants will be taken to the excursion site by shuttle bus. The excursion ends at around 4:30 pm on site. We recommend booking the excursion together with the social evening, as the shuttle buses will take participants directly to the social evening afterwards.
The participation fee is 50 EUR per person.
The excursions can be booked until 18 May 2025.
Please note that it is only possible to book one of the three excursions, as they all take place at the same time.
Our excursions:
1. Piber Lipizzaner Stud Farm: Visit the famous stud farm and learn more about the noble Lipizzaner horses. Here you have the opportunity to experience the impressive animals up close and learn more about their history.
2. Gölles manufactory for fine brandy & fine vinegar: Experience the production of high-quality brandies and vinegars up close and immerse yourself in their world. Be inspired by the exquisite flavours and the art of distilling with a tasting. *
3. Zotter chocolate: Enjoy a sweet journey through the world of chocolate and discover the variety of Zotter creations. Learn more about the production process and the different flavours that Zotter has to offer. And savour the different types of chocolate during a tasting session. *

*Excursions 2 and 3 will only be offered if at least 20 participants register for them.
Social evening

We are pleased to invite you to our social evening at Schilcherhof Ligist on 3 July 2025. This special evening starts at 5 pm and offers you the perfect opportunity to socialise in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Take the chance to make new contacts and have interesting conversations.
The Schilcherhof Ligist offers the ideal setting for an evening full of encounters and dialogue. Look forward to interesting conversations, delicious food and drinks and a cosy environment that invites you to linger. A local band will provide an exuberant atmosphere on this evening.
The participation fee for the social evening is 80 EUR per person.
